Time4Learning vs Gallop
Both are online, both cover K-12, and the prices are close. The worry most homeschool parents have is picking the one their child will actually stick with, and that comes down to how your child learns best.

What Time4Learning does well
Time4Learning feels like a full curriculum. Lessons use video and games, and there's offline work too: science experiments, labs, and hands-on projects. The activity planner and automated grading help with record keeping. Older students choose electives, and Time4MathFacts is included. It's ad-free, and they publish clear screen time guidance by grade. If you want a complete, structured homeschool program with built-in records, it's a solid choice.
Where Gallop is different
Gallop is set up more like a one-on-one tutor than a curriculum.
- A placement check finds your child's real level in each subject. It can seat them below or above their enrolled grade, so a child can be ahead in math and catching up in reading.
- Every skill opens with a short guided lesson. Lessons are short guided steps read aloud by a natural voice, not videos.
- When your child picks a wrong answer, Gallop says why that answer is wrong, specific to the mistake, and gives a "second look" to try again.
- If a skill stays stuck, Gallop opens a Skill Drill that re-teaches it.
- Today's Plan sets each day's session for each child, so nobody has to decide what's next.
Spanish is one of the five subjects, with a Spanish voice reading aloud.
The cost math
For one child, Gallop is $5.95 a month less. With more children the gap grows. From Time4Learning's posted prices, two children come to about $71.91 a month before any annual discount. Gallop's Family plan is $54 a month for up to 4 children, in any grades.
Which one fits
If your child enjoys videos and games, and you want projects and grading records built in, Time4Learning is a good fit. If your child needs to be taught one skill at a time, with mistakes explained and stuck spots re-taught, Gallop is built for that.
FAQ
Does Gallop cover a full grade?
Yes. Each grade is a course of ordered units and lessons across all five subjects, and your child always sees where they are: "Unit 2 of 7, Lesson 3 of 6." A certificate comes when a grade is cleared.
What will I see as a parent?
A weekly progress report and a dashboard with tutor's notes, plus a five-minute tip to do together at home.
Is Gallop safe for younger children?
No ads, data is never sold, and children can't type free text or chat with strangers. Everything is structured questions. Parental consent is collected by email under COPPA.
Can I switch from Time4Learning mid-year?
Yes. The placement check finds where your child really is, so there's no need to wait for a new school year. Cancel anytime from the parent dashboard.
